WATCH
When my mother told me that the father of her friend had gone missing while driving alone, I felt worried and uneasy. My mom's friend's father had dementia and his phone was uncontactable. The family tried to spread the news on social media (hence it reached my mom), hoping that someone would recognize him on the road and help him to go home. Luckily he was found safe the next day after his car ran out of gas and had to stop at the roadside. His story ended with a happy ending, but left me pondering about my grandparents, what if this happened to them too? I brainstormed, and came out with the idea of “Mindful Watch”
What is Mindful Watch?
In order to keep Dementia Patient safe, I wanted to create a smart device that can be worn by the patient that has the Safe Zone function in it. If the patient wanders off the Safe Zone, the device will notify the care giver by sounding an alarm on the care giver's device/ phone app. Noting that the patient might be wary of the device, I had an idea to put it in a form of "watch" that can be worn on their wrist.

"A Meaningful Experience to Drive Me Further"
Meeting other inventors and presenting to the judges and audiences have been an experience like no other. While I didn't manage to win, I took home a whole new experience and noted down areas I can improve in.
